Timber frame firm doubles output as regs lift demand

TIMBER frame manufacturer and designer Prestoplan is set to double its manufacturing capacity with the development of a second production plant.

The firm has opened a 9,400 sq m purpose-built timber frame production factory in Quedgeley, Gloucestershire, in response to an anticipated boom in the sector.

New building regulations to improve energy efficiency will add to demand for timber frame systems and the plant will help meet that demand, said Prestoplan operation director Andrew Underwood.
