Tolent books library

A CONSORTIUM featuring local firm Tolent and Japanese firm Kajima has been named preferred bidder for a £40 million library contract in Newcastle upon Tyne.

The team will rebuild both the City library and the High Heaton library on the same site for the city council.

Rival bidders Equion and Kier failed to make the cut after being shortlisted for the deal last August.

Construction work is set to start in the autumn.
