Topps Tiles chairman steps down

The co-founder of Topps Tiles has relinquished his role as chairman to focus on other business interests.

Barry Bester, who has been with the flooring and tiling firm for 26 years, will be succeeded by former MP Michael Jack.

Mr Bester will retain more than 10 per cent of shares within Handforth-based Topps.

He said: “I have chosen to resign as chairman of Topps Tiles after a wonderful 26 years with the business, as I have been spending an increasing amount of my time on my other private business interests.

“I offer my best wishes to my successor Michael Jack, with whom I have worked for many years.”
