Tory MP to champion angry clients

A CONSERVATIVE MP is to meet the consumer affairs minister later this month after one of his constituents complained about the behaviour of a Federation of Master Builders registered contractor.

Essex firm CB Contracts, which trades as Addaroom, was on the verge of being expelled by FMB bosses, when it went into administration in April.

Now Chelmsford West MP Simon Burns plans to raise the issue of problem builders with Gerry Sutcliffe.

A number of Addaroom's clients had rung the FMB's Cambridge office to complain that subcontractors had walked off their jobs because the firm was not paying them.

FMB regional manager Karen Collins said: 'There were several complaints that were being investigated when the firm went into administration.

'The conduct of this firm fell below the standards expected.'
