Train UK unemployed

Sir, I am disgusted to read ('CITB exports tests to Poland', News, August 3) that the CITB is going to Poland to help them get CSCS-qualified workers.

We have a huge amount of foreign workers in this country already who are driving down the costs of contracts by working for as little as £30 a day for a 12-hour day.

CITB should get a grip and promote the training of former manufacturing workers. These workers would be easier to train than young people.
