Tram winner

Merseytravel will announce this week which contractor has been chosen to build the £200 million Line 1 of Merseytram.Merseytravel shortlisted nine teams in February after the competition was reopened following the rejection of the Mersey Express Tramway bid which saw Balfour Beatty booted off the job. Balfour has retendered and is believed by some to be favourite having 18 months' experience on the project. Laing O'Rourke, Amec and Mowlem are also in the fray.
