Travel chaos warning as icy weather grips tight

Drivers are today being urged to delay their journeys to work as forecasters issued warnings over the freezing weather.
Temperatures as low as minus 10C and the threat of snow are set to cause chaos in the south east of England and the worst of the weather is due to coincide with the busiest time on the roads.

Meanwhile police in Co Durham are investigating the death of a nurse found dead in a snow-covered playing field who it is feared may have been overcome by the icy conditions.
