Trump £750m golf course approved

Construction will commence this week on Donald Trump’s £750 million golf course after local councillors approved the project.

Councillors voted eight to one in favour of the course in Aberdeeneshire, Scotland.

Speaking from his New York home last night, Mr Trump said this was the news he had been waiting for.

The Trump Organisation’s head of international development, George Sorial, said: “It’s a momentous day for the Trump Organisation, the north-east and Scotland.”

Mr Sorial confirmed work would get under way on the championship course this week and, weather permitting, construction would take 18 months.

“We are very grateful to those who have supported the project from day one,” he added.
