Tube Lines says station upgrade programme ahead of schedule

Tube Lines said its programme of London Underground station upgrades was ahead of schedule.

It said it has started work on 12 stations in the fourth tranche of upgrades, and has started to look at stations in tranches five and six.

It said capital expenditure was ahead of plan at £97 million.

And it said the number of delays was down on its lines by 14 per cent from the previous quarter last year, and injury rates were below the standard levels for infrastructure companies.

But customers’ journey satisfaction was still too low, and Tube Lines had appointed a new maintenance contractor which they hoped would improve standards.
