Turnover hits £30m at F Parkinson

FINANCE

BOOMING education work is sending workload spiralling at Blackpool-based contractor F Parkinson.

Workload was £6 million when Parkinson's management bought the firm in 1998 but results to be posted at Companies House will show turnover at £30 million in the year to September 2005.

Business support manager Jackie Hibberd said: 'Workload is mostly public sector education.

'We tried to get into the NHS but had our nose pushed out because of ProCure21. We're now finding the NHS is going back to the traditional route and we're back in the frame.'

In 2005, Parkinson turned over £23 million and doubled pre-tax profits to £491,000.

The management of the firm, which employs 120 people, wants turnover to reach £38 million in the next two years.

Parkinson, which landed one of eight places on an £80 million framework with Manchester City Council, also has offices in York and Bury.
