Two arrested for former Bow chief burglary

POLICE have arrested two men in connection with a robbery at the home of former Bow Scaffolding director Michael Bowkett.

Mr Bowkett and his family were attacked at their house in Hazeleigh, Essex, in the summer. The horrific attack by two masked raiders on July 21 saw the family dog killed and about £5,000-worth of jewellery stolen.

A spokesman for Essex police said: 'We arrested two men in connection with the robbery last week. Both are in their 40s and from London.'

The pair have been bailed to appear at an Essex police station in December while detectives continue their investigations.

Mr Bowkett was head of Bow Scaffolding when it collapsed at the end of June with debts of £20 million.

Creditors of Bow will be told at a meeting next week that there is virtually no chance of them recovering any cash from the stricken firm.

In a letter sent out by the joint administrative receiver, companies owed money were told: 'It is unlikely there will be a return to creditors.'
