Two bidders for Salford and Wigan BSF

Bovis Lend Lease and a Hochtief/Laing O’Rourke are the beneficiaries after the client for a joint schools deal decided to go with just two bidders for its £350 million Building Schools for the Future project.

The two were among five teams chosen in November to submit preliminary responses for the joint Salford and Wigan BSF deal.

But the client decided that the pair’s proposals set them apart from rivals Sir Robert McAlpine; Interserve and Land Securities/Morgan Ashurst, and so chose to proceed with two rather than the more traditional three bidders to Invitation to Competitive Dialogue stage.

These fuller bids will be returned in late June, with a preferred bidder set to be appointed by the end of the year.
