Two rev up for £45m Rolls-Royce job

CONTRACTS - BRISTOL

THE RACE to build a £45 million manufacturing plant for jet engine maker Rolls-Royce is down to just two teams.

Bowmer & Kirkland and Mowlem are still chasing the project after Taylor Woodrow and Interserve were left on the runway. The contract is to build a 50,000 sq m building on its Filton works site in Bristol. One bidder said: 'Bowmer & Kirkland could well be the favourites here as they have been developing quite a close relationship with the firm.'

In July B&K won two contracts worth £62 million at Rolls-Royce sites in Hucknall, near Nottingham, and Derby.
