Two rivals check in for office and hotel deal

LAING O'Rourke and InteriorExterior are vying for a £25 million office and hotel scheme in south London.

The deal covers the fifth phase of Berkeley Homes' £220 million Chelsea Bridge Wharf development (above) in Wandsworth.

The latest scheme will be at the southern end of the narrow site, which is squeezed between Battersea Park and Battersea Power Station, due to be revamped by developer Parkview International.

Bovis Lend Lease, which is Parkview's managing contractor, carried out much of the earlier work for Berkeley.

Laing O'Rourke and InteriorExterior will now deliver lump sum prices rather than the two-stage tender originally planned for the scheme.
