A monster nibbler begins demolishing the County Hall Island Block in Westminster last week to make way for a £100 million hotel and residential complex for Galliard Homes. Coleman and Co, based in Birmingham, is handling the demolition of the derelict building and the work is expected to last four months.

The old building was voted 11th ugliest in Britain by Channel 4 viewers.
