UK construction firms should look to South America for work

British construction companies are being urged to look to Mexico to fill their order books during the downturn.

In two reports published by the Government’s international business development organisation UK Trade & Investment, firms are encouraged to look to the Mexican or Brazilian sectors where “opportunities for UK companies are plentiful”.

Major Spanish contractors pounced on the market years ago, but Dmh Consultancy director David Howell, who authored the reports, said: “With our expertise in infrastructure, UK companies can play an important role.”
