Specialist contractor Controlled Demolition pulls down part of the Bull Ring shopping complex in Birmingham to clear the way for redevelopment work. The scheme, known as the New Bull Ring, is being put together by the Birmingham Alliance, comprising the city council and developers, Hammerson, Henderson and Land Securities. Shepherd has clinched the £23 million deal to build the first phase of the scheme. A decision on the £250 million contract for the second stage is imminent.
