Under fire in Dublin

DARREN Palin, below, has been working to stabilise the business under its new owner, Linkway Manufacturing, but it has faced a tough time in Ireland.

Here 15 subcont ractors have enlisted the help of the Member of Parliament for Dublin North West, deputy Pat Carey, to f ight their corner.

Those subbies claim they are owed around £1 million on a £4 million contract Controlled carried out to demolish the city's notorious McDonagh Tower. Controlled is planning to sue Ballymun Regeneration ? the client on Ireland's biggest ever regeneration scheme ? again for £1 million.

Deputy Carey is advising all the other subbies to wait and see what happens in the court case.

If Controlled wins, Mr Palin has assured the MP that the Irish contingent will get its money.
