Vibroplant looks long term with £3.5m tie-up

Plant

NATIONAL hirer Vibroplant has taken delivery of a package of 90 telehandlers and 40 dumpers, worth £3.5 million, to support long-term contracts.

The telehandlers - from Caterpillar, JCB and Manitou - will go to work for major house builders including Wimpey, Barratt, Beazer, Tilbury Douglas and Countryside.

The 10 nine-tonne dumpers and 30 six-tonne swivels from Benford will be used on earthmoving and road refurbishment contracts.

The deal will be followed in the New Year by a further £1.1 million order for 50 straight mast forklifts and 10 telescopic masts.

Divisional director John Singleton said: 'We enter the 21st century in confident mood, determined to keep our fleet among the most modern and reliable in the country.'
