NEWS - IN BRIEF

The two rail workers killed when they were hit by a road-rail machine in Staffordshire last week have been named as David Pennington, 46, of Burnley, Lancashire, and Martin Oates, 38, of Sheffield.The VG Clements employees were struck near Cannock during a track possession.They were working for main contractor Carillion.
