Vinci posts robust growth

French construction group Vinci has posted a 15 per cent rise in first-half sales to £12.36 billion.

The group said it is on track for full-year turnover growth at close to 10 per cent.

In the second quarter, sales were £6.73 billion, an increase of 13.2 per cent year-on-year.

Vinci has benefited from the contribution of acquisitions made in 2007, such as foundations and piling specialist Solétanche Bachy. This has enabled it to build up its operations outside France in its specialised expertise business lines.

Vinci Construction’s order book at 30 June, 2008 totalled 15 billion euros (£11.81 billion), up by 5 per cent from 31 December 2007.
