Vp acquires Dudley Vale in £3.5m deal

TOOLS-to-rail plant hirer Vp has bought piling equipment specialist Dudley Vale from GE Equipment Services in a deal wor th £3.53.

The business will be merged with Vp's Piletec operation and trade under the name Piletec Dudley Vale. Net asset value at completion was £2.2 million.

The move is part of Vp's ongoing diversif ication.

Dudley Vale, originally part of the Barcom group that GE bought in 1998, hires and sells a range of piling hammers, vibrating hammers and pile breakers from locations in Croydon and Oldham.

The new business will be part of Vp's Groundforce division and offer a range of services to the water, construction and civil engineering sectors.

Vp chairman Jeremy Pilkington said: 'Dudley Vale will complement our existing activity.' The move comes a month after Vp bought portable roadway specialist Trax Portable Access.
