Vp beats tough market

PLANT hirer Vp has withstood a halving in profits at its forklift hire operation and a continued slowdown in work from the AMP4 round of water work to lift interim earnings.

A strong performance from Hire Station helped Vp push pre-tax profits up £2.3 million to £7.8 million on turnover of £61.3 million - up from £47.4 million.

Group managing director Neil Stothard said: 'UK Forks had an exceptional year last year.

Construction and house building are stable but there has been a bit of a pause since January.'
