Vp expands with double buy

Equipment hire specialist Vp has bought rival hirer Arcotherm for £650,000 in cash.

Acrotherm has dealt in the hire and sale of heaters, air conditioners and dehumidifiers for the last 15 years. It operates from branches in Stoke-on-Trent and Oxford.

Vp subsidiary Hire Station has also completed its acquisition of north-east business DJ Tool Hire for an undisclosed sum.

The firm, currently in administration, is set to strengthen Hire Station’s presence in the region.

Vp chairman Jeremy Pilkington said: “The acquisition of Arcotherm represents a further important step in the establishment of Hire Station's climate products business.

“The acquisition of the long established DJ business further enhances our distribution capability for tool hire and associated services in the North East of England.”

Vp will announce its final results for the year ended 31 March 2008 on 5 June.
