Warehouse blaze leaves four in hospital

A fire at a construction materials warehouse in Bexhill, Sussex has left four people in hospital.

A further 10 were treated for smoke inhalation at a nearby Tesco store by ambulance workers after the fire broke out.

Around 20 firefighters battled the blaze at the Brett Concrete premises on Brett Drive which began shortly before 10.15pm on Wednesday night.

The fire was brought under control within two hours but an East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said "substantial damage" was caused to the one-storey building.

A fire investigation officer is to visit the premises with police to probe the cause of the blaze.
