Weather - or not

Sir, In Me and My Machine (Construction News, February 6) you reported that use of the Wirtgen WR2500 integrated spreader meant work could continue all year round. This implies that other systems of ground stabilisation would not be as environmentally friendly and more dependent on the weather.

This is not the case. Our company has pioneered and developed over a number of years a different approach to dust control. The highest risk from dust is at the point of discharge from the delivery tanker to the hopper and, as the capacity of the integrated hopper is far less than our system, the likelihood of dust escaping from the integrated hopper is increased.

Our system has been tried and tested on numerous environmentally sensitive sites all year round.
