Wembley bosses stand firm on sparks'bonuses

WEMBLEY stadium sparks were due to sort out a simmering row over bonus payments at a meeting on the site yesterday (Wednesday).

Some of the 300 electricians have been demanding extra cash in line with finishing bonuses agreed with steel erectors.

But leaders of electrical union Amicus and management at main employer Phoenix are standing firm over the issue.

One union source said: 'The sparks at Wembley are paid more than the erectors and if you look at their deal it's even better than the one on offer at T5.

'They are paid under different agreements and are on a great deal.'
