What are costs of MPA?

LETTERS

Sir, I have followed with great interest the articles on Heathrow Terminal 5, BAA and the Major Projects Agreement.

From the article in Construction News on September 15, it appears that the arrangement is working well but that it is expensive.

As this system could well form the benchmark for many future projects, it would be interesting to know such information as: what are the costs; what do tradesmen earn per hour; what bonuses do they get and how are they achieved; do they have subsidised canteens; do they get tool money, lodging allowances and so on?

In house building, where I work, the trades have worked side by side, even room by room, for years. So, far from leading, Terminal 5 is only catching up in this regard.
