What goes around

LETTERS

Sir, I read with interest that Birse Construction was moaning about losing money due to the non-payment of their account by a major football club.

This seems somewhat hypocritical, as in the past they were among the worst payers of subcontractors. I know this from personal experience as, in 1994, Birse's non-payment had a big hand in bringing my company, Moor Steel Engineering Ltd, down. I lost 25 years' hard work and 37 people lost their jobs.

You know there is an old saying in life: 'what goes around, comes around'.
