Willmott lands elderly homes redevelopment

CONTRACTS - BUCKINGHAMSHIRE

WILLMOTT Dixon has won the first stage of a £60 million redevelopment in Buckinghamshire.

The contractor is building 118 new homes for older people - including flats, bungalows and two- and three-bedroom cottages - as part of the Denham Garden Village project for the Anchor Trust.The first phase is valued at £24 million and is due for completion in May 2006.

Denham Garden Village will feature 326 homes in total, as well as a new village centre with shops, restaurants, a leisure suite and village hall.Willmott Dixon is favourite to carry out subsequent packages.

A project source said: 'The development was priced with a view to going on to complete the entire job. I can't see anyone else but Willmott Dixon taking it all.'

PRP is the project architect, while Philip Pank Partnership is quantity surveyor.
