Wind work


Amec has been awarded a contract to oversee the installation of the world's first deep water wind energy turbines, 70 km out in the in the Moray Firth near Inverness.The £24 million project, for Talisman Energy and Scottish and Southern Energy, will see two 5 MW turbines sunk into 45 m of water. Subject to planning approval, installation will be carried out next summer.
