Woman Builders boss Janet Shelley is to hold talks with potential investors to bale out the firm.
Ms Shelley said she needs £50,000 to keep the business afloat. It has helped find jobs in the industry for more than 300 women.
She said: “I’m meeting people over the next few weeks and hopefully I’ll find someone I can work with.”
Labour MP Claire Curtis-Thomas, a former engineer and a member of the trade and industry select committee, has also been in touch.
The Milton Keynes firm has been in difficulty following a downturn in the local residential market earlier this year.
