Work starts on Chigwell sports track

Fitzpatrick Contractors has commenced on site for the Cycle Circuit Facility at Hog Hill in Chigwell.

The £3.6 million scheme by London Development Agency comprises of three parts.

Part one is the construction of a new single storey Cycle Club House building. Part two is the construction of a 2km dense porous bituminous cycle track, a range of 'off-road' cycle cross trails and associated drainage. Part 3 is the provision of an area of hard standing to provide car parking, covering approximately 4,000 sqm for 158 car parking spaces.

The scheme will also involve a comprehensive landscaping proposal, including habitat creation elsewhere on site.
