Workers back at John Brown site

A STRIKE at the Milford Haven gas terminal in Pembrokeshire was settled on Tuesday after rumbling on for four weeks.

Around 250 employees stopped work last month following concerns over the removal of asbestos at the site.

Around 100 returned to work last week, but the rest have been picketing outside the factory after being locked out and sacked for failing to return to work.

The company managing the site, Chicago Bridge and Iron John Brown, said: 'CBI is pleased to announce that following discussions with the full-time officials at Amicus and GMB unions, the industrial action has been resolved and the men will begin returning to work tomorow (Wednesday).'
