Wrap funds boost production

SUPPORT funding from green waste body Wrap has helped a Scottish aggregate, block and concrete producer double its turnover in three years.

Fife-based specialist Brand & Rae, which produces concrete blocks containing recycled glass, used the Business Support team at Wrap to help increase its production capacity from 6.4 million units to 11 million.

Speaking at a Glasgow roadshow designed to launch the Business Support team in Scotland, Brand & Rae's managing director, Gary Bell, applauded the assistance Wrap had given his company.

He said: 'Our business has grown significantly as a result of the help we received from Wrap.

'Without its assistance we would have had to wait for at least two more years to make this k ind of progress.'

The organisation helped Brand & Rae secure £315,000 of investment for a concrete plant and a block making machine.
