Wrekin lands £20m pollution control scheme

WREKIN'S rail division has tracked down a £20 million project for Network Rail.

The design and build deal is the biggest Wrekin has landed in the rail sector so far.

The job involves building pollution prevention schemes at 21 light maintenance depots throughout northern England and Wales.

Wrekin has teamed up with Hyder Consulting for the M&E and civil engineering elements of the schemes.

The pair will work closely with Network Rail's programme team to ensure that the scheme is delivered within strict time constraints.

The works will be carried out over a three and a half years and will initially be designed to ensure Network Rail compliance with oil storage regulations.Construction work will commence later this year.
