WYG names new man

White Young Green has named VT director Paul Hamer as its chief operating officer.

Mr Hamer takes up his new role on 1 July and replaces Richard McCaffrey who left suddenly in January. Mr Hamer, who is the managing director of VT Nuclear Services, will report to WYG chief executive Lawrie Haynes.

He was previously director of projects at BNFL’s environmental services division and has also worked in the contracting, oil, chemical and petrochemical sectors.

Mr Hamer will also join the board of Stock Exchange-listed WYG which in its last set of results saw pre-tax profits rocket by a third to £7.1 million in the six months to December.
