Yorkshire firm wins affordable homes work

Yorkshire based contractor Strategic Team Group has won a £15 million contract to build 144 new homes at “affordable” rent levels.

The firm was awarded the contract by housing association Yorkshire Housing who will manage the homes in Barnsley, Wakefield, Bradford and Leeds.

Some of the new homes will replace existing properties and others will be constructed on previously undeveloped land.

STG managing director Andrew Watson said: “We have carried out extensive work for Yorkshire Housing for many years and together these schemes amount to a significant piece of work that will make a big difference to local communities.”

STG has also been appointed to Yorkshire Housing’s three-year contractors’ framework.
