Yorwaste offers £20m build contract for Scarborough windfarm

Waste management company Yorwaste is tendering a £20 million construction contract for a new windfarm in Scarborough.

The company is looking for a developer to design, build, finance and operate a new Windfarm at Seamer Carr, Scarborough, adjacent to a former land-fill waste site.

The construction element is valued between £10-£20m. The successful developer will enter into a 25-year contract from completion of construction.

It will then lease the site, install wind generators and share a percentage of the revenue from electricity generation with Yorwaste.

The development will include leasing the site, preparing a viable technical scheme for wind powered generation of electricity, liaising with the local planning authority and obtaining planning permission, negotiating access rights with neighbouring owners, negotiating grid connections, all necessary construction, and operation maintenance and repairs over the contract term.

Time limit for receipt of tenders or requests to participate is 10 December. Contact Tony Sharkey at Yorwaste. Telephone 01609774400or visit
