Yuill brushes off rising pension costs

HARTLEPOOL-based house builder Yuill has been forced to pay an extra £960,000 into its pension scheme.

Pre-tax profits at Yuill bounded up £3.8 million to £13.6 million in the year to April 2005 but the extra payment took pension costs up £580,000 to £2.1 million.

Turnover at Yuill, which employs 220 people, rose £11.5 million to £58.5 million, with net assets up to £31.7 million from £25.6 million.
