Lift-off for Osborne

A new footbridge, along with one lift shaft, has been craned in at Streatham Hill Station in south London.

Main contractor Osborne used a 500-tonne crane to lift the 30-tonne, 22-metre bridge span and lift shaft into place between platforms 1 and 2.

Osborne undertook the works as part of the Government’s Access for All programme being delivered by Network Rail.

It is also undertaking DDA compliance work at a number of stations, including Lewisham, Twyford, Fareham, Fratton, Clapham Junction, and Southampton.
