Linford Group ceases trading

Midlands contractor The Linford Group yesterday announced it would cease trading immediately and all of its 240 staff be made redundant.

The Lichfield, Staffordshire-based firm is a new build and refurbishment specialist and has been trading for 40 years.

All 240 employees, around 200 of whom were based in the Lichfield area, have been made redundant.

Richard Goodwin, of Birmingham-based corporate recovery firm Butcher Woods, is handling the insolvency.

“The company is unfortunately another casualty of the difficulties currently being faced in the construction industry,” said Mr Goodwin.

“We are doing what we can to work with all parties involved to maximise realisations.”

The Linford Group’s parent company, F & E V Linford, which has been trading for 140 years, remains unaffected by its subsidiary’s insolvency.
