Lucas to fit out Thames cable-car stations

The fit out contract for the stations either side of London’s Olympic cablecar project has been handed to specialist firm Lucas Fit Out.

The Emirates Air Line project which will span the River Thames from Greenwich Peninsula to the Albert Royal Docks is due to be completed in time for next year’s games.

Lucas Fit Out’s work on the Transport for London project will be screeding the front and back of house areas in both stations and laying Granazzo floor tiles to the public circulation areas and platforms.

The Lucas team will supply and install sanitaryware, undertake specialist joinery in the stations, including the ticket offices, install a whole range of specialist metalwork and decorate all areas.

The fit out is due to start early in the 2012.
