UK architect secures Louvre Abu Dhabi work

UK-based Pascall & Watson has been appointed by French architect Jean Nouvel as the architect of record for the Louvre Abu Dhabi.

The museum is scheduled to open in 2012 and will comprise a 24,000 square metre complex below a shallow dome. Inside, 6,000 square metres of galleries will be used for permanent installations and 2,000 square metres will be reserved for temporary exhibitions (MEED 6:5:09).
