DIO seeks contractor for £35m Cornwall  jetty upgrade

The Defence Infrastructure Organisation is seeking a contractor for the upgrade of its loading facility and fire fighting capacity at Thanckes Oil Fuel Depot, in a contract worth up to £35m.

The contract will include design and construction of a new fuel jetty and approach bridge for vessels of up to 50,000 tonnes displacement.

Works include construction of communication and power lines, demolition, site preparation and clearance works, as well as the associated provision of welfare facilities, power supply, CCTV and water supply.

The fire fighting equipment within the depot is also to be upgraded.

The contract is valued at between £25m and £35m, lasting 30 months from the award date.
