Balfour Beatty wins £100m Hartlepool BSF deal

Balfour Beatty has won the £100 million Hartlepool Building Schools for Future contract.

The contractor beat off competition from Kier at the final stage of procurement.

Balfour Beatty will begin work on the contract for Hartlepool Borough Council in June. The project is set for completion in 2015.

Phase one of the work will see 90 per cent refurbishment of Dyke House school. The second phase will see the total rebuild of Catcote School and an 80 per cent new build of Manor College.

The final stage will see major construction works on English Martys and High Tunstall schools, as well as remodelling for a Pupil Referral Unit.
