Exeter university to build £48m extension

Plans for a £48 million development at the University of Exeter have been approved by the local authority.

The scheme, known as the Forum Project, includes the construction of a new student services centre, a landscaped piazza and a large auditorium as well as the extension and refurbishment of the existing library.

A new university reception and retail and catering outlets will also be built.

Work is scheduled to start in January.

The project will take about two years to complete.
