Kier wins £51m schools deal in Bolton

Kier has scooped two education jobs in Bolton worth a total of £51 million.

The contractor was this week announced as preferred bidder by Bolton Council for the Essa Academy and Bolton St Catherine’s Academy & Firwood School contract.

The project, procured through Partnerships for Schools’ existing academies framework, will see complete rebuilds to both school estates.

Kier North West will carry out the building work, which is due to start at the Essa site in April 2010.

Kier Education principal director Neil Pates added: “We are delighted to have been announced as preferred bidder and believe our designs will deliver truly transformational learning opportunities for the students at the Essa Academy.”
