Robertson seeks new contractors for £29m academy

Robertson is seeking local contractors to deliver the £29m Harris Academy – the first project to be delivered in Dundee through the East Central Scottish hub.

The existing school is to be demolished with a new 15,000 square metre building erected in its place.

The school project is part of a £500m investment programme covering construction projects throughout Tayside, Fife and the Forth Valley.

A meet the buyer event is being held by Robertson on Thursday 28 March, at the Queen’s Hotel in Dundee.

The demolition work is scheduled to begin in Autumn, with construction completing in June 2016.

Malcolm MacLeod, hub director for Robertson said: “Our Meet the Buyer event is a chance for local subcontractors and tradespeople to meet the project team and find out how they might get involved in the construction of the new Harris Academy, which will provide a sustainable, state-of-the-art school for local pupils.”

Ian Mullen, Chairman, hub East Central Scotland said: “The hub East Central programme will deliver well-designed, affordable and sustainable community facilities throughout the Territory and will generate many opportunities for local contractors.”
