Balfour Beatty wins private hospital job

Balfour Beatty Construction has won a £15.9 million contract to refurbish a medical centre in north London.

The contractor will convert an office building at the Platinum Medical Centre of the privately owned Wellington Hospital in St John’s Wood.

The office building will be turned into a five-storey medical facility to include four operating theatres, two MRI scanners, CT and PET CT scanners as well as X-ray and ultrasound diagnostic facilities. It will also have a major cancer unit and 50 consulting rooms.

Works are scheduled for completion in mid 2011.
